Christopher Hitchens Dies 12/15/11

Preeminent polemicist, influential writer, and cultural critic Christopher Hitchens died on Thursday, December 15, 2011 at the age of 62 from complications of cancer of the esophagus. Hitchens’ credits are too storied and lengthy to list in this announcement.

Not that it means much, but on a personal note: Hitches was one of the only so-called intellectuals I ever met that actually impressed me. I wish I had had more opportunities to spend in his company.

  2. Christopher was well known in Australia and greatly respected. He was a regular correspondent on Late Night Live radio with Phillip Adams and was always well received on the lecture tour. His philosophy and humour will live on in the anecdotes we will tell, as will his podcast debates and lectures.
Christopher Hitchens is dead, after a full life, too brief, well lived.
