- Top scientific breakthroughs of 2010 – “From synthetic life and three-parent embryos to the possibility of a new human ancestor and a habitable exoplanet, here are the breakthroughs that made us shout “Science!” the loudest this year.”
- The King and I project – Bruce Critelli is reading the entire King James Bible in 2011 and hopes to have people of varied beliefs join him. You can even read along with the Skeptic’s Annotated Bible.
- Pseudo-scientific nonsense – “In a report, the charity Sense About Science has named and shamed the sports stars, singers, actors and models guilty of promoting pseudo scientific nonsense in the past year.” If reading that at the Daily Mail makes you feel dirty, here’s the NYT coverage. And here’s Sense About Science’s site. (Thanks to all the readers who sent this in!)
- Placebo effects without deception? Well, not exactly – Since there still seems to be some chatter about this study, here’s Dave Gorski’s take on it on SBM.
