Let Me Put A Spell On You: RELISTED!

Guys, my previous auction for the crazy witch spell had to be relisted because I used the word “shit” and some poor loser with too much time on his/her hands couldn’t handle my extreme punk rock raditude so it was removed.

Here’s the link to the new auction. Sorry to those who bid already! Ya gotta bid again.

Here’s the conversation I had with eBay customer support.

  1. That’s bullshit. I was considering putting up a listing to sell the filthiest insult I could think of, but I don’t see any way to write it without including some examples of my previous work (so people know I’m legit). So there goes my Dragon CON drinking money. Bummer.

Post the link of the fake thing you told him about at the end so we can go laugh at it. :P

  2. Sometimes I think the only way to stay sane would be to move to another planet and a find a way to keep all the assholes out. Anyone making any progress on that?

  3. Hope s/he doesn’t hit the listing anything because of the word “ass”. Granted, shit is a stronger expletive but s/he sounds like the kind who enjoys picking gnat-“doody” out of pepper.

  4. They’re worried about making Ebay “safe”, and this is how they decide to go about it? Well, I’m glad they’ve got their priorities straight…

  5. uh, I’m assuming you sent some sort of email or something? That looks like a conversation w/ a chat bot if I’ve ever seen one…

  6. @ryk: not neccesarily, they’re usually extremely strict about what you can say in customer service. I did a lot of phone and email support, and every word you spat out had to be from script on the phone, and emails were all form. There was still a person physically there reading what you say, but all they can do is press a button like a good monkey to generate a response.

  7. Wow, a whole industry I never heard of! And in the freaky world of eBay it’s ok to post soft porn to advertise ‘Sex Slave Ultimate Spell’, but not ok to say ‘shit’? Oh, and here’s the fine print:

Laws require me to state the following: You must be 18 years old in the United States to purchase such services. Those under the age of 18 are not permitted to make a purchase. Any Magic, Paranormal, or Psychic services are considered purchased for the intentions of “entertainment only” by United States Law. I am not personally liable, in any way, for the results of the actions taken by the buyer, you are opting into this spiritual pact knowingly, and willingly. This is an “at your own risk” purchase. Any resulting effects in the real world are in no way the responsibility of the spell caster. You agree to these terms by purchasing my service.

  8. @sunioc: eh, maybe. It just seemed to me that there were no direct responses to her questions, so I thought it was a chat bot.

anyways, how do you sell items that have expletives in the title, like certain books, movies, music, etc.

And are they allowed to post photos depicting those items, or do they have to photoshop little black rectangles in?

  9. @Buzz Parsec:

To relive found memories of youth and to revisit the woo that started me on the path to where I am now. I’ve recently started rewatching the orignal In Search Of…

I need to take notes because it is full of great quotes.

  10. Sweet! But I hope the money raised goes toward research into how to really get me a robotic arm.

Ebay is wacky, but have you been to Etsy to check out the magical crap being sold there? At least you can get an ugly piece of glass to contain your woo: http://www.etsy.com/listing/53817430/bottle-spell

Or, for the price of printer ink and a dollar store candle, you can make bank off of magic candles: http://www.etsy.com/listing/42297663/psychic-vision-spell-candle-2×3-pillar
