I'm a researcher in mathematical genetics (phylogenetic methods using DNA sequences). I'm old enough to (barely) remember a person walking on the moon.
One night when I was about 7, as I lay in bed I thought "I don't believe in ghosts or witches or magic. God is magic. That means I don't believe in god." I still stand by this logic. (Even John Wesley, founder of the Methodists, agreed with the central logical inference. He wrote "Giving up [belief in] witchcraft is, in effect, giving up the Bible.")
