Los Angeles: Calling all Atheist, Agnostic, Secular Jews, Secularists, Churchless Women!

We are Starting Meetups Again!

The Los Angeles Women’s Atheist and Agnostic Group (LAWAAG for short) is starting meetups again! We welcome all levels of religiosity or lack there of. The only requirement is that you identify primarily as she/her and you aren’t an asshole. We will boot you out if you aren’t friendly! The point of this group is to build a social network for women and to do cool stuff, so we focus on making friends and doing fun activities together. We are also a substitute support group for people who wish they had a church or just miss that sense of family that churches bring. But know that we have moved on from spending our time talking about religion and now focus more on social activism, feminism, building friendships, art and education. So if you show up bragging about how you met Dawkins or how funny you think Bill Maher is, you will prolly get looked at sideways. But it’s still ok. We can help get you up to speed!

Welcome Back Saturday July 13th Noon to 3pm Mixer and Pot Luck: This Saturday from noon to 3 in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles I will host our latest gathering. YOU MUST RSVP HERE. This meetup is at my art studio and I only have space for 20.

The meetup group has been quiet for a while, for many, many reasons- but I have decided to start it back up. I thought a Saturday brunch hangout type mixer at my art studio would be a fun way to reconvene. Moving forward, we can have meetups after work too and plan some outdoor events. If you can bring a snack or dish on Saturday, that would be great. If not, no worries. I will have coffee, tea, some light snacks, art, mellow music and a peaceful environment to hang out and socialize in.

We can decide at the meetup what and where we’d like our next meeting and bookclub book (or movie or TV show) to be. Yes, I’m bringing back back bookclub too but I’m turning it into a media club cuz a lot of us had wanted to watch movies and comedy and other pop culture specials and discuss them so I am going to make it more inclusive in that respect.

Sorry this group went dark for so long but sometimes organizers need a break. But I’m back, and I hope you all can join me on Saturday July 13th so we can get this happy meetup group back in motion.

Reminder: You can bring friends but this is a meetup for women or those who primarily identify as she/her only. Thanks!
