Sorta transcript:

So the Super Bowl was yesterday, and I know there’s not a lot of overlap between football fans and, well, my fans, but I have to admit that I love football. I used to play in a flag football league, and I still enjoy watching the game whenever I can. Yesterday’s game was pretty awesome, because it was one of the greatest comebacks in the history of the game, and there was even a pretty good halftime show.

In case you missed it, Lady Gaga was the halftime performer, and there are a lot of differing opinions about her performance. Most people seemed to enjoy it; some people thought she wasn’t political enough, some people thought she was very subtly political what with playing the protest song “This Land is Your Land,” and some other people thought that she performed a satanic ritual to control the will of the American people and usher in a New World Order.

All these positions are equally valid, of course.

Alex Jones, of course, is the reason anyone is talking about the whole satanic ritual thing. What once was fringe is quickly becoming mainstream, considering that the president of the United States of America is a big fan of Alex Jones and may even be getting policy ideas from him. So maybe the next executive order will be a travel ban against anyone wearing a meat dress, or something.

The meat dress, in fact, is one example Jones cites to prove Gaga’s Satanic connections. Other examples are that her halftime show was going to feature her standing on top of the stadium (which it did) and being surrounded by a swarm of drones (which it did not). He also throws out the fact that she was central to Pizzagate–you remember Pizzagate, right? Where Jones and his neo-Nazi base decided Washington Democrats like Hillary Clinton were running a pedophile ring out of a pizza shop, inspiring one man to charge into the shop with a gun in order to free the child sex slaves? Yeah. Apparently Lady Gaga did that, too.

Jones isn’t getting this idea out of nowhere–for the past decade, conspiracy theorists have said that Gaga is a tool of the Illuminati. There are loads of photos of her covering one eye or circling one eye, which is obviously Illuminati, and you can put a pentagram on her face and it sort of lines up with her eyes, and sometimes her hair looks like devil horns or something. They say the same of Madonna, Katy Perry, Beyonce, and any other woman who has the temerity to be famous.

“The Vigilant Christian” already has a video up on YouTube pointing out the ways the Halftime Show was satanic, and it truly is a lesson in confirmation bias. Confirmation bias is when a person seeks out small details that might confirm what they already believe to be true. In this case, The Vigilant Christian has decided that a spiky set piece is a pentagram, and that the “okay” symbol is a “666” signal. The confirmation bias is so strong that even facts that debunk the conspiracy are incorporated into it. The Vigilant Christian decided that Gaga’s continuous references to the Christian god throughout her show was actually part of the conspiracy, in that she’s pretending to be Christian in order to trick the average undiscerning viewer. I guess that’s vigilance for you.

So congrats to Lady Gaga for a show with some extremely subtle anti-fascist shade but apparently some pretty obvious pro-Satan messaging.
