Quickies: Trans lives, the privilege of running, and feminine Pokemon

One study, for instance, found that due to poor infrastructure and safety enforcement, pedestrians living in low-income neighborhoods were six times more likely to be injured by a moving vehicle than those from high-income neighborhoods.”
- Starter Pokemon’s “feminine” evolution is bothering some fans – I can’t say it any better than Alex: “I literally could not make up this level of male fragility.”
- Science wide open: Children’s books about women in science – I especially love the art for this Kickstarter project.
- Cute Animal Friday! I give you, Steve the Cat and his flock of sheep. Also, weiner dogs and their BFF, a lion.
This video game designed with children in mind, a mostly gender balanced playerbase, and a cheerful light tone has something that could be construed to be feminine in it! The very idea of being forced to play a character that doesn’t match my identity in every way(if I like water types) is appalling.
As an adult white male, I cannot fathom any problem more severe. Also what’s with all these feminists suggesting that women should maybe represent more than 16% of all playable characters in AAA games? How oversensitive can you get? It’s censorship, I tell you.
Is there any room for a feminine design in video games with these guys? (I suppose it could be worse…)
No. That would be… gaaaaaaaaay.
