This is just a quick shout out to let you know that LAWAAG has three fun and inspiring meetups on the horizon. If you are in Los Angeles and primarily identify as a woman and like books and art or helping homeless veterans -you might be interested in participating in our next three gatherings!

Art and Craft Secular Saturday Gathering
Saturday, October 17, 2015
12:00 PM to 4:00 PM
This meetup is a very relaxed hangout where we will make art and do crafty things like knitting, felting, collaging or coloring while we listen to music and chill together!

LAWAAG Bookclub – Fun Home: A Family Tragicomic Kindle Edition by Alison Bechdel
Saturday, October 24, 2015
2:00 PM to 4:00 PM
From the book’s description:

In this groundbreaking, bestselling graphic memoir, Alison Bechdel charts her fraught relationship with her late father. In her hands, personal history becomes a work of amazing subtlety and power, written with controlled force and enlivened with humor, rich literary allusion, and heartbreaking detail.

Distant and exacting, Bruce Bechdel was an English teacher and director of the town funeral home, which Alison and her family referred to as the “Fun Home.” It was not until college that Alison, who had recently come out as a lesbian, discovered that her father was also gay. A few weeks after this revelation, he was dead, leaving a legacy of mystery for his daughter to resolve.

Join our team by registering to walk or run – or make a donation to help us reach our fundraising goal. Here is the link to join or support our team by clicking here. Even if you can’t join, please cheer us on! It’s a great cause and it’s very easy for us all to help out!

100% of your gift (every dollar you donate or fundraise) will go directly to services dedicated to ending homelessness in Greater Los Angeles.
Most of us are planning on walking but you can run if you want!

You can get an official invite and RSVP to these events by joining our official Meetup page.
That’s all the updates for now.
