Skepchick Auctions: Handmade Leather Plague Doctor Mask & More
This week’s donated items to raise money for SkepchickCon 2014 are from Mad Art Lab‘s Ryan Consell. Neither Ryan nor Skepchick profits from these auctions. All proceeds go toward supplies and rental costs for science, skepticism, and art activities, workshops, and panels as well as travel costs for bringing out the experts to CONvergence, a sci-fi/fantasy conference held in Minneapolis every year. SkepchickCon is the science and skepticism track.
Ryan has donated three beautiful handmade leather items:
A plague doctor mask, with flame etching: Add a bit of flare to your medieval medic. Based on the historical masks of the plague doctors, but with a bit of modern styling including etched flame patterns and acrylic lenses. What is SkepchickCON?
The science and skepticism track at CONvergence, an annual sci-fi fantasy conference held around July 4th weekend in the Minneapolis area. This year, the con is running Thursday, July 3, through Sunday, July 6. The theme is Midsummer Night’s Dream (think more urban fantasy than Shakespeare).

If you’ll be in the Twin Cities, MN, area July 3-6, and you’re interested in volunteering, please contact me at skepchickevents [at] gmail.com. We need videographers, photographers, general AV people, track room volunteers, volunteers to help with panels and full-hour activities, transportation help, and more! We also still need help with video transcription for our 2013 videos and will need the same for 2014.
