Now Hiring Parents!

Skepchick is looking for parents. Not like to fulfill that angry promise we made as kids when we were mad at our own parents. We’re looking for parents who want to blog about parenting.

Next month, we will be launching our new parenting sister site, Grounded Parents, and we are looking for contributors.

Are you qualified? Maybe. You don’t have to be good at parenting. You just have to be not-much-worse than me. That bar is pretty low…. here’s a photo of me giving my kids a bath:

Box of Wine

But you should probably at least be good at writing sentences. That’s an important part. And having something to say when writing those sentences. Even better if that something is a topic that is typically overlooked or discussed badly by the uninformed and exhausted masses.

We’re hoping to find parents and guardians and miscellaneous other experts on child rearing and family-having who are interested in writing at least one skeptically-themed article every two weeks. The position is not paid in money, but it is paid in love, appreciation, animated gifs and an occasional box of wine… and in the satisfaction of knowing you’re doing something to make the world a better place.

If you’re interested, just fill out this application and, if we think you’re a good fit, we’ll ask you for a writing sample.

  1. Awe, you mean I have to stop reading those blogs about how uteri are magical and placenta is a tasty snack? Damn science!

  2. Not interested in ‘the job’ but would not mind making the odd post if some one wanted to know my experiences raising 3 boys (one Autistic), and now a grandparent, if the topic was appropriate. P.S. I would be ‘ghost writing’ for my wife who did the heavy lifting while I worked (ticks boring middle class……box).
