As this was the last country to abolish slavery in the Americas (1888), Brazil has probably the largest archive of photographs of slavery. The University of Sao Paolo has a new exhibition showing these photographs expanded to reveal the reality.
VIETNAM
The ban on same-sex wedding ceremonies has been lifted. The new decree abolishes the fines previously imposed on same-sex weddings and recognizes the right of gay couples to live together, but the weddings are not officially recognized.
SPAIN
The city of Gijon decided to promote the Day Against Gender Violence with a poster that reads “Misscomunication is the source of all violence”. Yeah, it’s your fault for not communicating to your attacker that you do not wish to be attacked.

The mayor of the city of Beit Shemesh said that there are no homosexuals in his “holy and pure” city, and that it was up to the Health Ministry and the police to “take care of them.”
