Giveaways? Prizes? Raffles? It Must Be Time for Skepticon!

The legendary Skepticon is nigh. As always, the speaker roster is impressive and includes our very own Debbie and Rebecca. In addition, Rebecca and I will be participating in the Godless Perverts Story Hour.

While going to it might be free from registration costs, running such a summit of awesome heathenishness isn’t free. With just over a month left, Skepticon is about 2/3 of its way to its fundraising goal. To help raise the $10k needed for this final push, others have offered all kinds of incentives. Dogma Debate has issued a few dares (Aron Ra already has to defend Creationism, which should be hilarious). Via Deep-Fried Freethinkers we have handmade Twink-A-Dinks chocolate; half the proceeds will go to Skepticon and the other half will go to help people get to Skepticon, which is a win-win.

There are incentives to donating to Skepticon directly, too. If you contribute any amount during the month of October, you’ll be entered to win one of ten SK6 necklaces made by our very own Surly Amy and help out with the $1,000 match challenge, where any donation for this month counts double (up to $2000). Also, if you directly donate $100 or more, you’ll get an exclusive gift.

Here’s my little incentive in addition to the others: donate any amount in any way to Skepticon by October 31st and forward your email confirmation of the donation to heinous[dot]heina[at]gmail[dot]com. On November 1st, I will randomly select a donor to receive a women’s size small Skepticon 5 t-shirt.

UPDATE: The talented Beth Presswood of Godless Bitches has added one of her gorgeous, custom-made resin rose necklaces to the giveaway. Check out her shop and donate soon for your chance to win one!

And now, I’m going to buy some chocolates, because who doesn’t like the idea of eating tiny sweet dinosaurs for a good cause?
