A man accused of raping his wife for years was set free because of “cultural context”. According to the judges, since the couple is Paraguayan, they were educated in a culture where the husband completely dominates the wife. As Andrés put it: Good to know foreign values like “protection under the law” where not imposed on the victim.

ITALY
The country’s first black parliamentarian, Cecile Kyenge, continues being the target of racist comments by anti-immigration parliamentarians.

EGYPT

23-year old engineer commits suicide because a crow perched itself on his head, which he interpreted as a bad omen.
