Auctions: ’40s/’50s Sci-fi Movie postcard book & last chance for a custom cocktail

PhotobyChrisAppelgren This week’s auctions include one last chance to get a custom cocktail recipe created just for you by Mad Art Lab’s mixologist Anne Sauer. This has been such a popular auction that Anne is willing to do one more, but this is it, so get your bids in here.

The second item up for sale is an out-of-print movie poster postcard book from my very own collection. I Married a Monster from Outer Space features postcards of movie posters from some of the classic B movies of 1940s and ’50s sci-fi, such as the title poster plus Cobra Woman, Bride of the Gorilla, Devil Girl from Mars, Untamed Women, Indestructible Man, and more (23 total). See photos of the contents in the listing or here.

As you can probably tell, these movies were all created by feminists.

The book is complete and in excellent condition. I’d say mint but there’s slight wear on the cover edge and corner just from my many moves. I am putting it up for sale only because I really want to help out with the fundraising for SkepchickCon, which is going to kick serious ass this year.

See all items here. You can bid anytime this week. The auctions all end next Sunday, June 9, starting at around 9 pm Eastern.

The proceeds of these auctions go entirely to SkepchickCon. If these auctions don’t interest you but you’d still like to help out, please check out the donations widget over at skepchickcon.com. Also, check back soon for more details about the panelists, panels, and everything we have store for you (whether you attend or watch the videos).

We welcome donated items and services to put up on eBay as well as ideas for other causes and events that might benefit from future fundraising auctions. Contact us with your donation ideas or cause suggestions!
