SkepchickCon: Early Registration Discount Ends May 15

Meet Skepchicks, Freethought Bloggers, and tons of special guests at SkepchickCon, the science and skepticism track of CONvergence, a sci-fi/fantasy conference held July 4-7 in the Minneapolis area. If you register by May 15, you pay only $60. That’s it. Sixty bucks gets you access to four freaking days of panels, cosplay, multiple nightly themed parties, interactive workshops, and more.

A ton of Skepchick Network contributors will be there, joined by PZ Myers, Stephanie Zvan, and Jason Thibeault of Freethought Blogs, plus several incredible special guests: neuroscientist Indre Viskontas of Point of Inquiry, microbiologist Siouxsie Wiles, science writer and filmmaker Shawn Otto, Desiree Schell of Skeptically Speaking, journalist and blogger Amanda Marcotte, biological anthropologist Greg Laden, natural resources scientist Emily Cassidy, and cultural geographer Kirsten Valentine Cadieux.

This panelist lineup would not have been possible without you! A huge THANK YOU to everyone who donated during the last Skepchick Challenge! Even if you can’t make it out this year, we’ll be posting videos of as many panels, workshops, and demonstrations as possible during or shortly after the con, so you’ll still get a taste of where your donation went to.

We are still raising money to cover the cost of materials for workshops, demonstrations, panels, and the Skepchick Sideshow room, where all CONvergence attendees can meet the Skepchicks and guests, get more info on science and skepticism, and watch some kick-ass mixology demonstrations by Anne Sauer of Mad Art Lab. If you can help us out, please send donations to skepchick [at] skepchick.org or use the widget on the SkepchickCon web page.
