Skepchick Quickies 2.27

On February 27, 1922, the Supreme Court upheld the Nineteenth Amendment (allowing women to vote) in a case that challenged its constitutionality (Leser v. Garnett). The decision was unanimous (and I would have liked to see the looks on the faces of the dudes on the challenging side).

    That Leser v. Garnett case sounds like the opponents of women voting got incredibly desperate. How do you say the constitution is unconstitutional? That’s basically what they would have to have done, since their arguments sound really stupid. Than again, Sexist arguments, tend to be really stupid.
