EVENT! Queereka Birthday Bash!

Happy one-year birthday, Queereka! The Skepchick sister site is celebrating this Wednesday afternoon and you are invited to join them, live on the Internets!

If you haven’t already checked out the blog, go now. Queereka is devoted to giving a voice to LGBTQ skeptics, providing a place for rational discussion about gender and sexuality in the skeptic and secular community as well as society as a whole. Rarely do I read a Queereka post that doesn’t linger in my brain for days, challenging my thinking and assumptions and illuminating issues in new ways. I am pretty psyched about what they have in store for us in the coming year. Get a sneak preview of that by joining the celebration this Wednesday! Details after the fold.

The Queereka writers will be joined by guest bloggers from the skeptical and atheist community and readers like you on a live Google Hangout. They’ll talk about the past year, what’s going on now, and what they have planned for the year ahead. The hangouts are limited to 10 people at a time, so they will rotate people in and out. Even when you’re not in the hangout itself at a particular time, you can participate in the comments section while you watch.

When: January 2, 2013, 1:00–3:00 p.m. ET

Where: Check the Queereka home page just before 1:00 that day for a link to the hangout.
