    1. (Although I do appreciate his explanation of the “Gangnam Style” song itself, since that’s something viewers might not know. As opposed to “O’Reilly is a jackass”, which we all knew already.

  1. Maybe it’s just me but when I looked at the Douche link I thought it was another story about O’Reilly.

    (cheap joke I know but I cracked my self up when I thought of it)<— I learned from the above issue of unclosed parens

  2. The article on domestic violence is great.
    I know a few people that could benifit from it.

    I just hope I would have the courage to do the right thing and not just stand by if I see DV happening.

    1. I agree except that I think the last bit of that article is grossly misleading.

      There would be few marriages where there are not occasional screaming matches, or even broken crockery, but it does NOT always escalate beyond that. If it does, that is pathological.

        I suppose it’s a case by case basis. Probably depends on how often it takes place.

        When blows are exchanged, I think that’s when the warning flags may go up, I suppose.

        I wonder if similar signs apply to child abuse as well.

        1. Thinking about this, we recognise that there is such a thing as verbal abuse and I wonder exactly what defines that.

          You mention frequency, true. I think threats of physical violence definitely would count. Also perhaps it depends on the balance of power in the relationship.

          The subject is close to home for me as the one time I turned my back forever on a so called mate was when I found out that he had been verbally abusing his wife to the point of terror and worse.

          I realised afterwards that the ENTIRE relationship was always inherently abusive from the start and I vowed never to stand for such ever again, if I could make a difference.

          Call me white knight or mangina if you will, I care not.
