Krampus is Coming to Town

Two years ago, I gave a talk at Skepticon* called How to Ruin Christmas for Nearly Everyone, in which I argued (in part) that it’s fun and beneficial to lie to children, particularly concerning Santa. I told the audience about an even better myth: Krampus, an evil demon said to stuff little children in a sack and drag them to hell around Christmastime. I’m very excited to announce that you can now incorporate Krampus into your holiday traditions with Krampus stockings and Krampus gift wrap from Skeptical Robot! Plus, we have new holiday cards:

And don’t forget that our Merry Squidmas cards go nicely with these Happy Monkey cards:

Krampus Stocking

Remember: he knows when you’ve been bad or good, so be good, or be dragged to hell in a sack.

  1. Hi Jessica. Todd from the Tally Atheists here. Just in case you hadn’t heard, yet, proposed Amendments 6 and 8 were both defeated!

  2. So is Squidmas PZ Meyer’s favorite holiday?

Love the stocking, too. Be funny to freak out my cousin with that.

      1. PZ Myers’ name is used to being abused by now. You managed to misspell it two different ways in the space of a few minutes. :)

  3. I think that this (the kernel of the Krampus ideal) was already covered by the creepy-assed, “Elf-on-a-Shelf” sold at Hallmark. The main-stream retailers may have beat you to the “creep the sh– out of kids for December to keep them in line”-thing.
