Skepticism

Events Update: Alberta, Florida, Kansas, Tennessee, Missouri, Australia, New Zealand, and MORE!

OK team, I have a ton of events coming up covering a decent portion of the globe, and I hope to see many of you! Here are the details:

Edmonton, AB
September 21
Thanks to Skeptically Speaking and the Greater Edmonton Skeptics Society (take that, Lesser Edmonton Skeptics Society!) for hosting me at the University of Alberta in Telus 150, at 6pm. More info here!

Lakeland, FL
September 28-30
I’ll be delivering the keynote at the Florida Humanists’ annual conference! Get your tickets here!

Kansas City, KS
October 5-7
American Atheists have invited me to speak at their Patriot & Atheist Regional Atheist Meeting! Come see me, Nate Phelps, Katherine Stewart, Hemant Mehta, and many more!

Buffalo, NY, Cleveland, OH, Columbus, OH, Cincinnati, OH, Louisville, KY, MORE!
October 20-25
I’m working out the details right now (well, right after I post this), but I’ll be traveling from Buffalo to Nashville with Richard Wiseman, Jon Ronson, and Adam Isaak, visiting weird attractions and doing fun events! Follow along and suggest stops at ParanormalRoadTrip.org!

Nashville, TN
October 25-28
Richard, Jon, Adam, and I will conclude our trip at CSICon in Nashville, TN, where we’ll be doing talks, dressing up for Halloween parties, and generally having a blast with people like my SGU co-hosts, a bunch of Skepchicks, Massimo Polidoro, George Hrab, and many, many more. Want to know what to expect? Check out this interview I did with Ron Lindsay! I’ll be doing a few more interviews with speakers in the lead up to the con.

Springfield, MO
November 9-11
It’s time for the largest free skeptical conference: Skepticon! I can’t wait. I always love the crowd there, and of course the speakers, like PZ Myers, Jennifer Ouelette, Tony Pinn, Greta Christina, Matt Dillahunty, and more!

Melbourne, Australia
November 30-December 2
I’m going back to Australia for the Australian Skeptics National Convention, with James Randi, Richard Saunders, Lynne Kelly, Krissy Wilson, and many more! I met so many awesome skeptics in Sydney and Melbourne two years ago. I can’t wait to see you all again!

New Zealand
December ?-December ?
After Melbourne, I plan to hop over to New Zealand again to see both old friends and new. The dates aren’t booked yet but I wanted this on your radar. PREPARE YOURSELF, NEW ZEALAND!

Whew! That’s it for the year, I think, except for that I think my family wants me to visit at some point. I’m going to try to work them in but I think they understand.

I hope to see some of you soon!

  1. Ooh, I’m actually going to be in Edmonton that day. Keep an eye out for me, I’m the white dude in blue jeans.

  2. Ah CRUMBS. I would LOVE to attend the Australian Skeptics Convention if it weren’t for the pesky money situation that goes hand in hand with being a university student. Yeah, second consecutive degree doesn’t seem so smart now, huh?

Come back in a couple of years when I upgrade to a real person job! In the mean time I shall sit at home in my SGU tees and throw myself a pity/essay writing party.

  3. Hearing about all the skeptical events that happen overseas often makes me feel left out down in my remote little corner of the world. It’s fantastic to hear you’re planning on coming here to New Zealand :)
