Skepticism

Comment of the Week!

I’m at Dragon*Con this weekend, which means I got to see a bunch of other Skepchicks last night and now I’m crazy plotting how we can all move to the same Skepchick Island and hang out together all the time. So I almost missed the COTW and that would have been a shame.

First, as usual, the out-of-context, from the archives Honorable Mention, by Erlend Aakre:

Just do what I do.. Put off thinking about death all the time, and hope it catches you by surprise in the end.

And this week’s winning comment, from teambanzai:

I’m on the Akin cleanse I’m cutting out stupid misogynisitc politicians out of my life and let me tell you my stress levels have dropped and I believe I have cut my chances of heart attack in half! Of course my results could be anecdotal.

That’s it for this week kids!  Back into the breach with my fellow nerds! Yay for the weekend!

  1. Completely unrelated:
The sponsored ads on the right – Marriage and God, Christian Singles.
    Contextual ads are adorable.

  2. An unfortunate side-effect of the Koch-brothers-rivaling revenue stream of blog money pouring into the evil Skepchick financial empire are some inappropriate ads. There’s a link you can use to report them on the “contact” page.

I’m usually amused by the Christian Mingle and Bible Study ads, so I don’t report them. Phil Plait has said that he can make annoying or inappropriate ads go away from his site; perhaps the Skepchicks can do the same thing?
