CSICon Tickets On Sale Now!

Tickets are now on sale for the second annual CSICon, happening October 25-28 in Nashville, TN! You may notice that the “about” page has a prominently displayed anti-harassment policy – this policy will be in effect at all Center for Inquiry events, including Committee for Skeptical Inquiry and Council for Secular Humanism events. Ron Lindsay discusses the details in a post here.

Skepchick will be running a blood drive at the con (appropriate for the Halloween theme, we thought), led by our new Grand High Mistress of Events Maria Walters. You’ll also see Elyse, Heina, Debbie, Amy, me and a few other to-be-announced Skepchick contributors there, plus official Friends of Skepchick Jon Ronson, Richard Wiseman, the Skeptics’ Guide to the Universe, and PZ Myers. So go get your tickets and we’ll see you in Nashville!

  1. There is a critical shortage of blood in Massachusetts now. They called me and I donated last week.

The time between donations is only 8 weeks, so people can donate for a couple of months and still be eligible to donate at CSICon

  2. I used to donate at the twice-yearly blood drives when I was in college, but only a few times since then. Thanks for the reminder, Daedalus.

If I attend CSICon, I’ll definitely do the reverse vampire thing. If I can get my act in gear, also before that. (I’m O+, the most common type, but still all blood is valuable.)
