Reminder: Skepchick Book Club on Sunday

Has it been almost a month already? Just in case you forgot to schedule it in your social calendar, this is a reminder that the Skepchick Book Club is this Sunday, June 17th, at 11 am, and we will be discussing The Man Who Knew Too Much: Alan Turing and the Invention of the Computer by David Leavitt. We have an amazing book-themed cocktail recipe lined up too (courtesy of Anne from Mad Art Lab)!

If you’re a geeky procrastinator like me, you haven’t finished the book yet but you’ve calculated the number of pages per day you need to get through. You can do it!

  1. They’re following you, Mary! The sponsored ad is for “Study Scripture Online”. To bad that one didn’t pop up for last month’s book :-)

I’m hopeful of finishing in time. I’m in the midst of the chapter on Bletchley Park and cryptography. This is all pretty new to me. I found it very interesting how minor errors in procedures, even seeming enhancements like double-encrypting the keys, could compromise the codes and greatly aid the code-breakers.
