Skepticism
Meet the Lampyridae!
One of my favorite New Zealanders is Siouxsie Wiles, the badass microbiologist and bioluminescence expert who very kindly accompanied me and other skeptics to the glowworm caves in Waitomo last year. She was awesome at explaining some difficult scientific concepts in easy-to-grasp language, and so I’m very pleased that she’s now sharing her knowledge with a wider audience via YouTube:
She says if she gets enough views, she’ll make more. So please, give her a thumbs up and share the link far and wide!
The video is elegantly-scripted and takes a clever trip through the laboratory. I particularly-enjoyed the visuals. Great stuff!
This is awesome, I love it! Concise and easy to understand. And a great example of how basic science can lead to some very cool things.
Gave her a thumbs-up. Cool science, and well presented.
Did you really have to imply two heads as a possible side effect?
