Rubbing your bonds against a convenient nail or other sharp object is always a good place to start.
You guys! She’s got to leave by Friday if she intends to get to NECSS. You’ll be able to escape after she is gone. In the meantime, try and think of a fun game to play together, like 20 Questions or Who Can Scream For Help The Loudest.

Given the other post on Brandy, is this a joke? If it is, it is in poor taste. Stockholm Syndrome is what keeps many women attached to their abusers and from escaping from them.
Such people need help, not to be made fun of.

I notice that the letter writer does not specify if she is the hostage taker or the hostage takee. If the former, then the best advice I can give is:

@Skepotter: By the pseudonym, I’m guessing hostage takee. Then again, if he/she is “stuck in Stockholm,” does this person really want to escape? I figure he/she would have identified with the hostage taker too far by that point.
