Skeptical Ninja of the Week: Zach Weiner

Today we’re launching a new feature at Skepchick:  The Skeptical Ninja of the Week!

This will work just as you imagine it would:  once a week, on Tuesday, I’ll feature our Skeptical Ninja for the week.  These fine people will be chosen by the Skepchicks, but feel free to make recommendations by using the Contact Us link at the top of the page. At the end of each month we’ll randomly select one of the featured Ninjas and they’ll win an original handmade Skeptical Ninja Surlyramic!

Our inaugural Skeptical Ninja of the Week is Zach Weiner, creator of web comic Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal.  While SMBC is routinely full of skeptical, geeky, funny, goodness, we’ve chosen Zach as our Skeptical Ninja for his carefully thought out, deftly executed response to the National Organization for Marriage’s co-opting one of his comics without permission for their blog (which is mostly for lobbying against gay marriage, but also for totally misusing the hotlink.)

I’ll let y’all read Zach’s tale over at his blog The Weinerworks. I’ll not link to N.O.M. because they’re puny minded and hateful.  But if you’re ever having one of those days where you wonder how you might use your rationality to do good?  Zach’s got a tutorial right there waiting to show you how it’s done.

Here’s to Zach Weiner, Skepchick’s Skeptical Ninja of the Week!
