  1. I liked the disclaimer subtitles on the Midnight Kitty Madness ad. Just like a real midnight madness sale. “We’ll find the perfect (purrfect?) cat to fit your personality, guaranteed.” (Disclaimer: “NOT a guarantee.”)

  2. How come every time someone says that a UFO sighting is a hoax, someone else comes and claims the first person doesn’t believe there might be life on other planets? The two aren’t really related.

The idea that extraterrestrial species would be interested in us, seems rather arrogant. But this is the HuffPo we are talking about.

  4. The key to effectively controlling people with religion is to make them feel guilt for basic human drives and responses. The 7 deadly sins are pretty much a shopping list of normal human desires: sex, food, self improvement, leisure, sadness, self worth, etc. Apparently the church figured out of lot of its members think about pornography and now they can make every thought about pornography connect back to the person’s identity as a Christian. Can’t really blame them, honestly. Getting people to believe a 2000 year old middle eastern zombie will grant them magical powers over death takes a lot of work.
