Skepchick Quickies, 12.22
Sorry for the delay on these today. Please feel free to contribute your own clever excuse for me.
- UN restores gay clause to killings resolution. (From Luciano.)

I know why you were late:
You were conducting an experiment in antigravity which mysteriously went awry, causing the Earth to have no gravity. Until the apparatus could be repaired, you had to hold the planet together by shear force of will. That is not as easy as it looks, and you were unable to spare the time to share a quickie with us.
No, she was counting animals two by two.
@Skepotter: Shouldn’t she have just tweeted Elyse, because isn’t saving the world her job? Then she could have just gotten on with the quickies. Or is Elyse still rounding up lawyers for Chelsea?
It wasn’t an abortion. The catholic church has this dumb exemption whereby you can do a procedure to save a mother’s life which will result in the death of the fetus as long as you don’t directly kill the fetus. They followed that dumb rule and the catholic church is still whinging. Nothing less than the death of both the mother and child would have satisified them.
Also you weren’t late in your frame of reference your awesomeness bends time such that you are late in any less awesome frames of reference (such as my work).
Zimbabwe’s ambassador says “especially if it entails accepting such practices as bestiality, paedophilia and those other practices many societies would find abhorrent in their value systems.”
What has homosexuality got to do with bestiality or paedophilia?

What has homosexuality got to do with bestiality or paedophilia?
That is a real good question; one you would need to ask of former Senator Rick Santorum.
Apparently, for people like Bishop Olmsted, religious dogma is more important than people. I thought it was very cruel of them to excommunicate Sister Margaret McBride. Of course, we atheists can say, “She’s better off without it,” but that’s not the way she would feel about it. No doubt, she was devastated by this condemnation. I hope she comes back swinging.
