I hope to get out to one of those conventions some day…
Oh First Amendment, it’s been more than a week and I haven’t paid any attention to you! Come here and let me give you a thousand sweet kisses of lurve. <3 Freedom of speech is the one thing the US actually gets REALLY right.
I’m happy, that as a PhD student, I’m not paying any council tax here so I’m not directly funding for the inquiry the council has announced. Well, this is Cardiff, Wales, and it is very religious. I think I mentioned this before, but I once even saw a bunch of kids “Christian-LARPing” on Queen Street, all about how Jesus slays the demon with his level 10 sword of justice or something. We have loads of churches, also of strange cults such as the Spiritualists, Christian Science *cough*, and the healing church, and they’re pretty main stream here. So it comes as no surprise that they immediately bend over backwards for a bunch of people who take their SciFi RPGing way to far.
By the way, I saw a Darlek at the A&E the other day… no film crew or anything. Just a Darlek.
I just want to know what genius scientology representative, in light of the Tom Cruise phenomenon, all of the Anonymous protests, the St. Petersburg Times expose, and their recent exposure in general, thought to themselves, “This is just the kind of media exposure we need! Everybody loves a church that litigates over casual twitter mentions!”
Xenu is totally down with democracy – that’s why the scientologists can’t be havin’ with it!
Anyway, I’m going to impinge on some scientologists’ religious freedom right now on my Twitter account. Y’know, for funsies!
There, totally impinged!

@Dax: It’s “dalek”.
@Bjornar: Oops. And that for someone living in Wales. Oh well, I never cared for the good doc anyway.
