- Census offers glimpse of oceans’ smallest life forms – “An unprecedented number of tiny, ocean dwelling organisms have been catalogued by researchers involved in a global survey of the world’s oceans. One of the highlights was the discovery of a vast “microbial mat”, covering an area equivalent to the size of Greece.” From Dave.
- Is marriage good for your health? – From Zenmonkey.
- Science fiction monsters made of sugar – I want a bat’leth waving sugar monster! From Nick.
- Dirty thunderstorm: Lightning in a volcano – Dude, Thor is pissed.
Is Thor fighting Vulcan? I think I have that comic somewhere!
I totally missed the “aquatic life” section of the census. Now I feel foolish for limiting myself to “white, non-hispanic”.

@Bjornar: COTW
@scribe999: Surtr, not Vulcan. You’re mixing your mythologies.
So did Marvel Comics…often, heh.
So when you take all the bad outcomes of marriage out of the equation, marriage is good for you?
@scribe999: Relying on Marvel Comics for mythologies is like relying on the Discovery Institute for biology.
@Mark Hall: I wasn’t trying to get it correct or rely on anything. I was just being silly about fictional characters fighting it out comic style, and I couldn’t think of Surtr off the top of my head initially. Relax. And seriously, comparing me to being a DIdiot for a joke? C’mon.
@scribe999: Dude, it was, likewise, a joke.
@Mark Hall: Ahhh…sarcasm and the internet…starting e-fights since 1995!
@marilove: 1995? 1995! I’ll have you know I had e-fights in 1994 and I was nowhere near the first to have one.
*mutters*1995 *shakes head*
@Mark Hall; @scribe999:
OK, knock it off you two! Don’t make me come back there. I will turn this site around, I mean it!
