Doctor Who’s New TARDIS (NSFW?)

Happy Easter, everyone! Let’s celebrate the man who gave his life for humanity only to be resurrected. Like, a dozen times.

For those who aren’t in the UK and thus might not have seen last night’s series five premiere, don’t worry! The only spoiler in this video is what the inside of the new TARDIS looks like. Well, to be specific, what one or two props inside the new TARDIS look like. Enjoy.

  1. Well, yes, I observed the same thing. It reminded me of the episode of P&T “Bullshit” where they showed a painted dildo to a UFO nut, and she got excited…..

But, I thought a high brow publication such as skepchick would be above this sort of smut.

    Oh, who am I kidding……

  2. Ah, Rebecca, yesterday the Flying Spaghetti Monster came to me and delivered the latest Doctor Who into my hands and my television, though I live in distant Mississippi. Graced have I been on the day before heathen Easter. Henceforth, let Noodly Saturday be a sacrament of blessed Science Fiction. Ramen, and again I say Ramen!

  3. Remembered the Round the Horne quote: “Filth is in the eye of the beholder (but you have to know what to look for)”.

  4. I was going to post something about this myself, but I think I’ll just use your video. Looking around, though, I think the Ripple might be a better fit.

    No pun intended, of course.

  5. Damnit. I have to figure out how to get BBC America from Comcast. I’ve seen it in their listings, but apparently it isn’t part of the basic extended package.

  6. Having been exposed to plate heat exchangers by holiday work in the 1980s, I started seeing plate heat exchanger plates all over the place in British SF shows. It seems the set designers have a long history of looking for interesting real life objects and turning them into a bit of set.

Plate heat exchanger plates are generally rectangular with interesting corrigations, and are handy as wall panels on space stations etc.

  7. Comcast only has BBCA on its digital lineup. Just one of many reasons I dumped their ass for FiOS.

  8. I believe we have to wait until 4/17 in the States. However, your video may convince more of my friends to join the Girl’s Night Doctor Who fan club I’ve been trying to start.
