@marilove: Always noticed that about coffee too, I think it’s fairly common. That article covered tolerance as it is related to the diuretic effect, which I thought was interesting. Must be why I don’t really notice it anymore, but still have to take a 15 at 10am most days.

Over a decade ago, one of the major cable manufacturers began making the stuff in “Barbie pink” at the request of the Mattel toy company, who were rewiring one of their major facilities. Now most suppliers offer it in pink.
I’m the network manager for a medium-sized college; I’ve used bright pink cabling for all my installed infrastructure Cat-5 for a number of years, to distinguish it from the grey phone cables. If a maintenance worker accidentally severs a cable on my campus, they know who to call.
Have had to endure occasional ribbing from our Facilities guys about girlie-cables.
@mikerattlesnake: Caffeine is a stimulant (as well as a diuretic) so it makes sense it would make you poo. Certain cold meds do the same to me as well. And back in the day, the very few times I did coke (not the drink:P) it would reek havoc on my stomach. But I tend to be super sensitive to stimulants (and thus, I drink very little coffee and no longer do coke haha).
I thought it was the water in the coffee that was the diuretic. When I drink a lot of soda before I go to bed, I have to pee less often the next morning, because the sodium in the sodas are retaining the water from the coffee. If I don’t get enough sodium the night before, then by the time I get to work, I got some niagara going on in my pants.
If I were a man I’d buy the pink versions of everything just to be ironic. The whole thing is just so ridiculous.
@catgirl: Sheriff Joe (here in Maricopa County, AZ) forces all of his inmates to wear pink underwear, and I think even pink handcuffs. And other pink stuff.
I SWEAR the pink hip-hop thing started with Sheriff Joe. (One time on the bus, I saw this 100% thugged out kid … all in pink. It was hilarious.)
The songs I think Jesus would download is “Jesus Built My Hotrod” and “Jesus is a Zombie.” However, I do not think Jesus has time to download songs between fixing cars and eating brains.

When it comes to weird geniuses, it always occurs to me to wonder if they’re not seeing something I’ve missed.
I was under the impression that caffeine induced higher pressure in the glomerulus and it suppressed anti-diuretic hormone. I didn’t realize the mechanism was still magical.
