So… out of a four minute encounter the “footage” was edited down to 45 seconds, of which only about 20 seconds show the “creature,” of which only about 3 seconds where in focus, of which none is of the “creature” close up or from the front.
Forgive me for not being kept awake by nightmares of hairy ape like “creatures” peering into my window as I sleep.

That may have worked when I was 11 and didn’t have a cell phone in my bedroom, but until someone finds a recently deceased Bigfoot bone, I will assume anyone looking in my window at night is a prowler and call the Police.
That and I sleep during the day now, so yeah.

How small are HD video cameras now? Would a hiker normally have one? I hike a lot up in Oklahoma and the only thing I take is water and my kids. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a hiker with a video camera. Lots of still cams, and picture phones.

The total giveaway is the recorder’s response. If you are in the woods, standing in the middle of a path and a large non-human primate crosses the road, you don’t go for the camera. You hide, THEN go for the camera. Then you don’t chase the thing. The recorder is either a total fraud or has significant cojones, and I don’t think it is the latter.
