  1. That…is an amazing collection of completely incorrect ideas about evolution. Sigh.

    monkeys aren’t our ancestors…they share ancestors with us.

    Evolution does not move towards progress or improvement….it’s just change.

    (amusing, though.)

  2. That was funny. I wish people could joke about being atheists that openly on American TV.

    @ bug_girl: It’s a comedy show. Let it go. :-)

  3. That’s excellent! I just wish American’s had more TV that showcased smart people rather than stupid people.

    @bug_girl:

    If you want more accurate information I recommend QI. Also funny, but with the correct answers. (Except Cruithne. I’ll never agree with them on that.)

  4. I think this goes back to the question of who is bothered by bad science in the entertainment field. Funny, funny stuff, especially when he pulls out a banana as proof of.

  5. I thought it was great that he picked Dara to argue against evolution.

    :)

    BG: Lighten up. It’s a game show. The audience already made up their mind before they entered the studio. If anyone in the audience was swayed by that *ahem* debate, then serious deliberative discussion is already beyond them and they are hopeless.

  6. It’s a panel show, and the comedians are asked to argue for or against something, and whoever argues the best or funniest, wins. In this case Dara was just funnier.
    No doubt helped by the ridiculous creatonist arguments, though I don’t think the audience got the banana joke by Marcus Brigstoke….

    The British audience wouldn’t vote for creationism in a normal debate, don’t worry.
