Get Tim Minchin to the Top of the Xmas Charts!
Okay, so he may not hit the top of the charts since he’s up against the brutal PR machine that is the X-Factor, but that shouldn’t stop us all from supporting a fellow skeptic while taking advantage of a fab deal on an amazing song. Plus, he only needs 10,000 downloads to make the top 40, which is well within the powers of the skeptic community.
Go buy the track White Wine in the Sun on iTunes right now! Apparently, proceeds will benefit a charity, and as soon as we have more info on that we’ll let you know!
Here’s some more info that comes directly from Skepchick Tracy, who is kicking ass and taking names to lead the effort:
Tim Minchin has released a Christmas single which is a secular, skeptical, beautiful look at the true meaning of the holiday.
Just 79p from iTunes, it has a real chance of making the UK charts if enough fans buy one or two downloads.
Here is the link to the official single on iTunes:
http://itunes.apple.com/gb/album/white-wine-in-the-sun/id345894009?i=345894011
PLEASE NOTE: although there are other versions available for sale online for example through amazon, they are not counted along with the iTunes sales for the chart, so please use the link above, and send it
to everyone you know!
(The other versions of the song online have 2 minutes of silence at the end. This is because it is the album track recording, not the official single.)
It would be amazing to have Tim in the charts for Christmas, especially if we’re the ones to make it happen.

I would love to, but amazon uk won’t let me download the mp3 (regional restrictions?!). Will it have any impact if I download it from the US site? If it’s available I will anyway.
It’s a beautiful song. Go Tim!
P.S. You could also be sure to do your part to make #whitewineinthesun a trendingtopic on twitter!

It’s been especially released on iTunes as a single so you might want to link to that, either as well as or instead of Amazon, as it cuts off all the silence at the end of the track.

Please DO NOT buy the song via the amazon link above. An iTunes link will be posted soon. Thanks.

Beautiful song.
sadly the Amazon US version at least has 2m of silence at the end of the track for some reasons.

It was on iTunes here in the U.S. as soon as Minchin posted the link on his Facebook page. It’s quite a fabulous song – go for it!

Damn that’s a good song. Downloaded, and straight into second place on my all-time favourite Xmas songs list.
