  1. @Tracy King: I set it to specifically not work for you.

Also it’s a new plugin. Is it just the plug-in that’s not working or the itunes download? I added the direct link to the file above…

  2. I didn’t want to listen anyway :P

The plugin above isn’t working for me, it gives me a ‘loading’ progress report but when it gets to 100% it doesn’t play anything (yes my volume is up). When I click the link to the audio at http://cdn4.libsyn.com/skepchick/TAM_London.m4a?nvb=20091102171004&nva=20091103172004&t=0f73e770c33b411c6e546 nothing happens. I get a little player icon with a play button but it doesn’t load anything. I haven’t tried through itunes yet because if boot up itunes, everything else breaks.

  3. @Tracy King: Hm. I wonder if the problem is that it’s an m4a. The direct link above works for me just fine, but it could be that it doesn’t play well with all. It’s an enhanced podcast with chapters and photos….I’ll do some sleuthing.

  4. It doesn’t work for me, either. I tried latest Firefox and Safari. If it requires ITunes, however, that would be the reason. I tried installing ITunes once and it took over my whole system. It took 3 hours just to get all the pieces uninstalled.

Is there a place we can just grab the m4As?

  5. @davew: Yes, the m4a is the file that has always been linked from the post.

For those without Quicktime or iTunes, I uploaded an mp3 as well, which I’ve now linked to. You don’t get all the pics and links but ah well.

  6. Ah, I see, m4a is a video file, and therefore a resource hog. I think it just chewed up everything that Chrome had and gave in. I shall use the low-tech version instead. Tar!

  7. @Rebecca:

Thanks for posting this. Good stuff! I have to say the suffragette joke left me scratching my head too. Maybe you have to be English to understand literate rape jokes.

A technical nit. The audio level is all over the place. Generally the interviews get softer as they go along with whoever came after Tracy King being nearly inaudible.

  8. Ha ha, fugg off :D I broke nuffink. It is very quiet audio though, is there some sort of loudenator it can be passed through?

  9. @Tracy King: It is very quiet audio though, is there some sort of loudenator it can be passed through?

Audacity is free and will do the mp3. I don’t know how to do the m4a or preserve the video in it.
