  1. I love the video, and the song is very fitting, but I find the overabundance of text and the lyrics to be confusing. (I have trouble reading and listening to music with discernible lyrics.)

I do wonder what most anti-vaccine people think of the Jenny McCarthy body count…

  2. If one yells FIRE in a crowded theatre ands someone gets trampled to death, thecharge would be manslaughter. I don’t see that what this bats**t woman is doing as any different. Why has she not been brought up on charges if the science is that good? Is our legal system that impotent? That was a stupid question, I already know the answer…

  3. I find McCarthy’s guilt similar to those of the parents who killed their children because they subscribed to woo. There becomes a point when good intention, incompetence, and ignorance becomes harmful. I find this case to be similar. Ignorance is no excuse for avoiding responsibility for causing tens of thousands of people to get sick.

  4. There’s certainly enough blame to go around for these appalling statistics. Jenny McCarthy for sure, but also powerful media figures like Oprah who give her a platform and, mostly, the scientifically illiterate and exceedingly credulous parents who believe her brand of BS.
    Thanks for the link, Amy.

  5. It tells me “due to copyright restrictions this video is not available in your country”. I wonder what those are?

  6. @Shevek: From Crispian’s blog: “Music is by Santana, and is owned or licensed by Sony Music Entertainment and as a result this video will not be available in Germany, but I’ve used it anyway as I thought it was a jolly good fit.”

  7. The increasing numbers of preventable illnesses scrolling by in the video is bad enough. The increasing numbers of preventable deaths made me cry. Literally. I feel so much rage when I see her smug face I can hardly see straight.
