Appearances

In just a few hours, I’ll be winging my way to the Deep South. I’ve been invited to participate in a small meeting for some Dungeons + Dragons club, called DragonCon. I’m very excited about it, because apparently some other cool people will be there, most notably: Dwight “Howling Mad” Schultz from the A-Team! Oh, and also a ton of Skepchicks and friends like Pamela Gay, Phil Plait, Genie Scott, Seth Shostack, Scott Sigler, Ben Radford, Jeff Wagg, all the guys from the Skeptics’ Guide to the Universe, Derek & Swoopy of Skepticality, Daniel Loxton, George Hrab, and probably like a dozen other people I’m forgetting at the moment. In a word: AWESOMENESS.

I’ll be at the Star Party tonight, and after that I’ll be on several panels throughout the weekend:

  1. I’ll be heading there soon myself. Currently waiting for my road trip copilot to get off work. Looking forward to meeting some of the skepfolk in person.

  2. “Dr. Steve Novella and a group of his rouges …” I had no idea Steve was that into make up.

    I mock because I’m jealous.

  3. When are you going to come out to Texas? We’d love to have to speak at the North Texas Church of Freethought!

  4. Dwight Schultz (who also played Barclay on Star Trek: TNG and Voyager) is, unfortunately, a UFO conspiracy nut. I doubt you will see him drop by any skeptical events at DragonCon.

Schultz has hosted the “out there” radio talk shows UFOs Tonight! and Dark Matters. His co-host on both shows was Don Ecker, the Director of Research for UFO Magazine.

“The atom was unleashed in 1946, right when all this stuff [UFO sightings] was occurring. And the bomb’s incredible release of energy and light may have signaled somebody in a dimension which is sharing space with us very closely.”
