Upcoming Shizzle: Boston, Worcester, NYC, Vegas
Okay, so obviously you all know that SkepchickCon is next week in Minneapolis, and The Amaz!ng Meeting 7 is the week after in Vegas, but there are a few more things going on that I wanted to let you know about:
This Saturday in Worcester, MA
4th Annual Greater Worcester Humanists Summer Outing
According to the organizers, you can “network with other New England area freethinkers in a casual, social setting in order to strengthen our community.” Fun! It starts at noon on Jun 27, 2009 at Rutland State Park. Here’s the Facebook event page.
This Monday in Boston, MA
Boston Skeptics in the Pub: Particle Colliders—The Science & The Fiction
This is going to be a good one, people! Shulamit Moed is a post-doc who splits her time between Fermilab (where she measures the production of the charm quark), CERN (where she prepares for the first LHC collisions), and Harvard (where she gives talks in pubs to people like you). It starts at 7pm (show up early if you want a seat!) at Tommy Doyle’s in Harvard Square. Info at BostonSkeptics.com.
July 9 in Vegas, NV
Drinking Skeptically/Skeptics in the Pub at TAM7
Get together with skeptics groups from around the country on the Thursday night before TAM! There will be goodies, plus booze of course. Info over at NYCSkeptics.com.
September 12 in New York City
NECSS: The Northeast Conference on Science and Skepticism
Sponsored by the NYC Skeptics and The Skeptics’ Guide to the Universe, this conference will have tons of fab speakers for you East Coast folks. Watch for this site to be updated soon, or follow on Twitter.
OK, I sent in my email address to the NECSS site.
Rebecca, I’ll be the guy in glasses and a geeky t-shirt. You can’t miss me.
