Chicago Party: Birthday Blowout Bash Bonanza/Egg Rave

I’m sure you’ve heard by now that there will be a super secret birthday party in Chicago this weekend!

If you haven’t heard yet, let me tell you a little bit about this party.

boot

It will be Saturday night. It will be in Chicago. It will be my mofo birthday! I will be wearing the boots pictured to the right.

There will be Skepchicks. That’s right. Several of us! It will be not only me, but also Masala Skeptic, in from Hawtlanta, and Carr2d2, of Sunday morning radio fame, in from Minnesota.

So you’re going to be there, right? Right!

Oh wait… You’re going to need your egg and your password if you want more information. (If you’ve forgotten the password, go here. I’ll wait.)

[waiting….]

Wow! That is a FINE looking egg you have there, reader. Just look after the jump for the details.

Where:

Matisse

674 W Diversey Pkwy

Chicago (here’s a map)

When:

Saturday, June 13

8:00PM

Why:

Because it’s my birthday and I just bought seriously hawt boots. Because I love you. Because you love Maria and Carrie. Because it’s Saturday. Because you want something even better than Blues Fest.

Parking:

If you’re going to drive, there is a paid lot across the street or you can try and find some street parking… don’t get your hopes up. But really, take the train or the bus… there will be Tang, and you shouldn’t be driving after Tang.

And one more thing:

Be like Brenda and Brandon. Don’t be like Steve and Andrea.

  1. Sounds like fun, however I can’t be there. My entire experience of Chicago is passing through O’hara on various connecting flights back when I used to travel.

  2. @Gabrielbrawley: That’s too bad, Chicago is rather neat, especially the natural history museum. I need to go back and replace my now rather faded Sue the Dinosaur T-Shirt. Been there a couple of times, helps that I have family living near by.

  3. Chicago was always one of my favorite haunts when I lived in northern Indiana. Now that I’ve moved to New Orleans, Chi-town is entirely too far to drive for one bacchanal. Maybe if you promised to wear your new boots with your birthday suit …

    Happy Birthday anyway! :)

  4. Happy Birthday, wish I could be there, from the photo it appears that you plan to spend the evening walking on your hands. That would be something to see =]

  5. Ooooooh, I just bought those boots, too! ‘Cept mine are black. I so, so, so want to visit Chicago but I am so, so, so poor.
I hope you have a wonderful birthday! And when I do eventually make it to Chicago, I will be sure to be there with my 5″ heels on.
Oh, and by the way, @danwest: if Elyse bought the same boots that I did, they are actually ridiculously comfortable, even if they do make one tower over ones husband…

  6. Damn, I want to go… alcohol, sexy boots, and witty boobs…

    Stupid geography.

I guess I have no choice but to drunkenly toast your birthday at my saturday sailing bachanal, instead of Chicago. Huzzah!

  7. @Elexina: No problem with you towering over your husband from time to time, and these high-heeled sneekers do look comfortable. It was the orientation that caused me to wonder about hand-walking. How else could you keep the sole pointed north?

  8. I hope you have a great birthday, Elyse! I’ll hoist some Tang in your honor from the East Coast.

Long gone are the days when I could jump on a flight for free and attend things like that…I’d love to put some faces with names sometime.

  9. @Elyse So no hand walking after all.

I don’t know Aldrin, Buzzed or otherwise. However, I live in the same state as Alan Bean, would that be worth a cart-wheel?

  10. I’ll be there for a meeting on the 27th…. any recommendations on what to in my spare time…

    Good micro brews? Cool museums?

  11. @25121642:

In your spare time you should come up for the party June 13!

As for museums, we got lots! As for beers, we got lots! As for hot chicks, we got three and they’ll all be at Matisse this weekend.

  12. How about you reschedule for the 27th?… No? Didn’t think so. Oh well, hotel bars can be fun too!

  13. I’ll be there. Matisse is half a mile from my home so it is clearly time for me to stop lurking and come say hello.
