Chicago: Are you ready for the Skepchick Invasion?

I just wanted to remind everyone that this weekend the Skepchicks are taking over Chicago! Masala Skeptic and Carr2D2 and I will be painting the town skeptical on Saturday night at Matisse (674 W Diversey, Chicago)

So put your drinking shoes on and get down (or up) there. We’ll be kicking off the festivities with the first shots of Buzzed Aldrins around 8pm. If you miss the kick off, we will be doing not-so-instant replays of the play every 30 minutes or so.

We’ll be celebrating my birthday. We’ll be celebrating Masala Skeptic’s birthday. We’ll be celebrating Chicago. We’ll be celebrating Skepchick. But most importantly, we’ll be celebrating you.

For more info, check out my previous post. Also, feel free to RSVP on Facebook (totally not required -  I just like to know whose sexy faces are going to be there.)

  1. Two things:

One: Chicago? That’s a three hour drive for me at least–not counting trying to find the place which is always the harder part.

Two: My fraking job won’t let me go. I have to work Saturdays. Jobs suck, except when they’re not there.

Three: My lack of companions to tag along with me.

Okay, so that’s three things. One is the drive, two is my job, three is going alone, and four is trying to find a place to stay afterwards. Okay so that’s four things…

  2. I expect drunken phone calls. Even though I’ve probably hit my party limit for the next few days and probably won’t be awake to receive them.

  3. @Oskar Kennedy: Touché.

However, us cheetahs are sprinters! I’d run 100 yards south before I gave up, and said, “damn, that’s really far away.” And then I’d hail a taxi cab to drive me the 100 yards back to my place.

  4. Hi there. Been reading the blog for a while, but just registered. Anyway, “RSVP” means to respond whether you are coming or not, so it basically requires a response from EVERYONE. Therefore, I hereby notify you that I will not be coming. :)
