  1. Excessive sushi intake on its own is fine. It’s only when it’s complicated by a case of extreme douchiness that it becomes a serious problem. I believe that’s what we’re seeing here.

We should send a card or something to Kari.

  2. Kari and I are very pleased by this somewhat unexpected news. I’m a little upset that Adam blew our cover, since we weren’t planning on announcing things yet, but oh well!

  3. To be fair: He was probably reading the script, while eating sushi, and simply made a post-hoc logical fallacy.

    Typically, I’m a David Mamet fan but…

    rod

  4. So cool for Kari!

That last article was really awesome, although I shuddered at the use of the word theory in the first line (shouldn’t it be hypothesis?)

    But this made me smile:

“But proving that chemicals can spontaneously form simple proteins did not prove that spontaneous action could create more complex mechanisms.

“In the absence of such explanations, some people could imagine unseen forces at work when such complex structures emerge in nature,” said Steinberg.”

  5. I have met Kari, she is STUNNING in real life. Causing most to abandon all critical thinking in her presence.
now who is the lucky bastard having a kid with her i wonder?

  6. There are going to be a lot of disappointed Mythbusters fans, but she has been married since 2006 to San Fransisco artist Paul Urich (look at the last picture in the link to see Kari and Paul together)

  7. Forget the baby itself, I just want to see the mobile that will be hanging over the littlest Mythbusters’ crib.

  8. @Nicole: Yeah, I was definitely thinking, “Heh, take THAT creationists!” too.

@ThickMcRunfast: I’m picturing little doodads that say “confirmed” and “busted” and little stuffed toy explosives.

  9. @Mordicant: Dammit, now I want sushi. Curses living in the Central Valley, I miss living in the Bay Area.

Trying to feel sorry for you…trying…trying…fail.

The closest I can get to good sushi here in Memphis is a pig-in-a-blanket covered in wasabi and barbecue sauce.

  10. Okay, I’ve already bought all 3 available ‘cross-stitch physicists’ and the best part… You get to cross stitch them yourself!!! They’ll go great with the cross-stitched Fishin’ Cap’n my mom made when I was little which now hangs in my kitchen.

  11. Kari’s pregnant? That’s cool. There is a downside. A million nerds just commited suicide. Oh the nerdanity!
