SNL Busts on Anti-Vaxxers

Anti-vaccination kooks, yeti hunters, and the Learning Annex all get a smack in the face in the first few very skeptical minutes of Saturday Night Live’s Weekend Update. Happy Sunday everyone!

  1. Wow, I must have poisoned my inner 14-year old with spinach and broccoli, and replaced him with a bitter old curmudgeon.

Am I really the only one who finds SNL redundant and obnoxious? I haven’t watched an episode in 30 years that I did end up turning off because they were beating some joke to death–whether it was funny to begin with or not.

…That said, I appreciate their news clips, because they (usually) avoid being redundant. And this one was pretty good. (I could have done without the cell-phone anniversary bit.)

  2. I am so with you JRice! I grew up on the old SNL (before it was dubbed “SNL” by this acronym-manic generation). I think that show hasn’t really been funny since the original NRfPTP left. Sometimes the news segments are amusing because they practically write themselves.

The Simpsons also has long since stopped being funny. But maybe that’s just me, since I never liked Seinfeld because none of the characters were likable, and I never liked South Park because it is far too base. (Does it still have the talking turd?)

Comedies ain’t funny, “dramas” are just cookie-cut versions of each other, and don’t get me started on the inanity of “Reality” television!

Now git off’n my lawn, ya damn kids!
