Be Healed! It’s Comment o’ the Week!

Happy Friday! The sun is shining, the leaves are turning, and the monkeys are flying (well, at least my new screaming slingshot monkey is). That must mean it’s time for the Comment o’ the Week!

Sure, Im A Hedge got multiple noms (nom nom nom) for hilarity, but what else is new? Sorry, IAH, but this week’s prize goes to . . .

Carr2D2’s Gender and the Skeptical Movement post and every subsequent awesome comment! I’ve fallen a bit behind and have yet to catch up, but I assure you I’ll be going back and reading everything posted there. So far, you’re all completely fantastic and I love hearing your thoughts on the issue.

So to all of you who posted something thought-provoking there, including carr2d2, you win the above photo of a horse with her head stuck in a tree (click the pic to view the article, which Sid found earlier this week and which simply does not stop being funny), PLUS! the below rocking video of Benny Hinn healing people to the tune of Let the Bodies Hit the Floor (found by my pal John — thanks John!).

  1. If one could conclude as to the nature of the Skepchicks from a study of the COTW nominations, it would appear that the Skepchicks have an inordinate fondness for Randi and clitorises.

  2. That guy is a badass! A cross between Bruce Lee and Spock, just one touch fells people! AND that is a first rate haircut

  3. @Gabrielbrawley:

clitori, clitoryou, clitorus… it’s all the same.

(I was about to google it to be sure, but I thought better of it. And my text editor did not complain.)

  4. I just couldn’t watc h the Hinn clip for more than a few seconds. I don’t enjoy watching the old lady on the news who sent all her money to that nice barrister in Nigeria who is going to help with her inheritance. I don’t enjoy watching ill and desperate people being conned out of their money by someone playing with their hope. Both seem ridiculous on the surface, but the hardship is real. The only difference is the first victim is more likely to figure it out.

Sorry to be a downer. In return, please enjoy a music video that was designed to get Memphis fans familiar with a really refreshing tag team – The New Generation.

  5. Considering I couldn’t come up with anything clever or thought provoking for the COTW thread that wasn’t already dealt with, and dealt with better than I could of, am I not allowed to look at the prizes? Or does it not matter?

@Gabrielbrawley: So apparently that’s what my diet has been missing. Gee and I thought it was not enough green vegetables and all that.

  6. Okay, the “breakfast” comment gave me the biggest LOL I ever remember having online.

It seems premature to nominate a COTW in the responses to last week’s COTW, but I don’t know how anything can top that for me.

  7. Yeah, I was concerned for the horse as well! It must be hurt somewhat, and certainly terrified. (Not to mentioned embarrassed beyond all get out!)

Hey, earlier this week, as I was hopelessly trying to contain my anticipation for the CotW post, I heard some Butthole Surfers on the radio and I thought maybe we should also have Awesome Band Name of the Week nominations. You know, like “Clitorati” or something.

  8. Relating to the first comment: How can you have an “inordinate fondness for Randi and clitorises”? Show me a women that doesn’t want you to show more fondness for her clitoris and I’ll show you a liar. Or a nun. Or a lieing nun.
