And the Winner (of the October Contest) Is . . . !

Thanks to everyone who participated in the delightfully-themed October contest, where your goal was to create some piece of awesome in celebration of my birthday! (And, thanks to Jill and Elyse for coming up with the idea. Mwah!)

The poetry submitted was fabulous, the YouTubery was rad, and the clay sculpture by Cassie was one of the greatest things I’ve ever seen in my life but alas I felt that declaring a fellow Skepchick writer the winner would be unbecoming. (Seriously though Cassie, you are amazing.)

There was one non-Skepchick who really shined, though, combining my innate egoism with my love of comic books (how did you know!?): FurryHermit, you totally owned the contest with this stellar cover art. You even worked in a unicorn! Well done.

So, congratulations! You win all my love*, plus astronaut ice cream from Elyse**, plus a personal thank you note from me. Please send your name and mailing address to [email protected] in order to claim your prizes.

Thanks to everyone who entered!

*non-physical, that I have to spare

  1. I like the part wher the priest is covering his eyes with the cross. Its just that it reminds me of horror movies in which priests try to unsuccessfully drive a monster away with a cross. Anyways, I love the cover picture. :)
