If you like The Skeptics’ Guide to the Universe (and you’d better), you’ll love attending a live recording of the SGU! So far we’ve had just a few chances to do this, since we all live in different cities — twice in Vegas at The Amaz!ng Meeting and once in New York last summer with special guests Todd Robbins, Steve Mirsky, and John Rennie.
I have to say that doing the show together, in person, is so much fun. We play off one another easily, and love interacting with the audience whether we’re cracking jokes or answering questions.
This event will be held in the memory of our good friend and awesome skeptic Perry Deangelis, who died around this time last year. Because of that, it’s only fitting that we hold the event in Perry’s hometown of Fairfield, Connecticut. Here are the basics:

Ah, the home state! I’d love make it out there (although that’d mean heading to CT two consecutive weekends, and three out of four (with a week away in between!) Not the most fiscally responsible thing, but we shall see.
Perhaps our Boston contingent can arrange group transportation?
I’d love to go, but I can’t. Besides I was at the one at dragon*con, I even got to ask a question, it was awesome!
The SGU should totally come up to Alaska. Srsly. I wanna interview you folks on my radio station and hopefully introduce some logic to the locals. In the mean time, I suppose sharing the link to your podcast will have to suffice. ;)
Is it important to RSVP? I don’t have a Facebook account (shocking!) and I don’t want to sign up just for this.
I’m excited though. I couldn’t go last year, so I’m very much looking forward to this.

Oh oh, if anyone wants to be put on a carpooling email list, just mention it in this thread. I can compile a list (using the email addresses you have in your profiles when you signed up on Skepchick) and send it out to everyone. This has worked in the past!

Hey Ajita, I did remember I have an unused Facebook account linked to an old college email address that I haven’t used in a couple of years. I’ll reactivate it and contact you later today.
But yeah Rebecca, if you’re going to make a list, I might have another couple of open spots in my car.
This is the closest event so far to where I’ve been at the time the event was being held. Except that it’s on a Saturday, and I’ll be performing at the CT renaissance Festival.

I’m going and I live in Groton, CT about half a mile north of I-95. I’d be happy to pick people up at ferry landings on the way to Fairfield. My minivan can hold 6 passengers.
