COTW: Giant Slug Edition

End of the week, kiddoes, and what a week it was! I think we had more comments and new blog registrants than ever before, thanks to PZ Myers trashing a cracker, Elyse trashing Santa, a crazy guy trying to trash the site, and the Skepchicks just plain gettin’ trashed. (For all you new commenters, head on over to Gravatar.com to upload your own pretty picture to appear next to your posts.) Okay, on to the Comment o’ the Week!

Sifting through a thousand-or-so comments was made slightly easier by those of you who replied to posts you liked with “COTW,” so thanks! Amanda had a great batch of Quickies earlier this week that inspired a few gems, including this week’s winner:

I don’t know what fills me with more terror, five foot flesh eating slugs, or old men legislating about my uterus.

Luckily, because of abstinence only education the two of the won’t learn how to breed and create the scariest pasty, flesh eating, law making monstrosity ever. OH! maybe it will eat unwanted fetuses! Get the slugs and old men a motel room and a bottle of cheap champagne, STAT!

Old male conservatives and giant slugs: a match made in heaven. Congratulations, LOLKate, for your disturbing comment, your cute gravatar, and your amusing username. Your prize can be found after the jump.

That’s right: Slurm!

It's highly addictive!

How will we know the difference?

Duh. You use salt on them. Slugs will curl and die. Conservatives will realize their true nature and return to their graves.

  2. slurm. awesome.

makes me want to dig out my dvds.

i don’t remember futurama being merchandised to all hell like the simpsons, but did they ever actually make and sell a slurm soda? if they didn’t, they totally need to. i’d buy it.

  3. Sorry this has nothing to do with the Comment of the Week. As married man with three kids I don’t do much on my Fridays. My kids are with their mother and my wife is asleep. So I’m drinking whisky and soda and watching the Doctor Who season finalee. It looks like David Tennant is gone. Dr. died and regenerated and the episode ended. I don’t know who the new Doc will be. Does anyone know who the new doc is?

  4. Carr2d2,

Cool. I knew that there was a second episode. I just thought it would introduce the new Dr who would then cleverly defeat the Daleks and Davros. Whatever happened to the old Dr villians? I haven’t seen the cybermen in a long time.

  5. haha rebecca, we’ve hijacked your post and turned it into a doctor who thread! :p

gabriel, did you watch the final ep yet?

i think the cybermen are going to be back next year. should be cool. we did get sontorans this season…

i for one would love to see those cheesy wasp people from the web planet (ok, not really).

good stuff. i’m excited to see where stephen moffatt takes it in the next few years. i like how he plays with time.

  6. Carr2d2,
No I haven’t seen the next episode. It airs on Sci-Fi on Thursday. So I’m looking forward to that. I have a bunch of the old episodes in my netflix. The boys love the new show. I’m hoping we can watch the old ones together also.
