“We Want The Gap!” – The Chicago Meet-up!

After hearing a story about a Berkeley riot ending with a thousand or so people demanding that “We want The Gap”, I promised this would be the title for the write up.

Right now, I don’t have much time to say much, but I wanted to thank everyone who showed up to make last night a huge, rockin’ success! I could not have had more fun. Hemant is, living up to his name, possibly the friendliest atheist ever. The mystery beer was delicious. The company was entertaining. The conversations were hilarious and smart. The Guitar Hero was……… well, let’s not talk about our collective Guitar Hero skills. But it was amazing!

A huge thank you to the good folks at Whiskey Road Bar as well for letting us hold the Guitar Hero hostage for most of the night!

And since you guys asked for it, I will indeed be working on another meet-up hopefully in April, but definitely by mid-May.

I just uploaded some pics to Flickr. Enjoy! And if you have any pics of your own from last night, give us a link!

  1. So sorry I missed it! What’s with the baby in the pictures?!?! If I know kids are invited I am about 1000 times more likely to make it to the next one.

  2. oh… no kids weren’t invited. I took some pics of my kid before uploading the ones from the meetup. forgot to take them out. My son was not actually licking tables at a bar.

  3. Sigh. Sometime my wife and I will have to make it to a get together in Chicago. It’s the closest one we’re likely to see since we live in Dubuque, IA. That’s a 3 hour drive. We’re flying out of Chicago for TAM 6. Maybe we’ll meet some of you folks on our flight.

Probably a good thing. I was licking things at bars at a very early age, and you see how I turned out.
