Start reading Irreligion!
Hi everyone, please start reading Irreligion: A Mathematician Explains Why the Arguments for God Just Don’t Add Up!
I’ve got a cold and have lost some sleep the last few nights with GERD (sigh), so I’m really out of it right now. Plus my frakking work phone has been ringing off the hook all day and I hate talking on the phone. I felt so crappy at 3 am when I was sitting here wishing I could go back to sleep, I was tempted to look up some homeopathy links on Google. Not! Back on the proton pump inhibitor meds I thought I was finished with and shood should be good as gold again in a few days…. (Damn, I’d better go to bed with a spelling error like that!)
When I feel better, I’ll post more about Irreligion and finish up the second part of the Infidel review. And I’ve already written a post about an upcoming Colorado skeptic event that should show up on the blog some time tomorrow. So enjoy the week and I hope to be back by the weekend! I’m quite sure everyone else will have more than enough interesting stuff to post about.
Hi, we spend about a month reading each book, but there's no pressure for anyone to finish in that amount of time. During the month I post several discussion topics related to the book, and at the end of the month I post an interview with the author or, if that's not possible, a review.
FAIL!
Please take pity on the newbie … I’m interested in joining the reading project, but I’m not sure what all is involved. Reading the book of course, that much I can figure out. ;) But what’s the time frame, and what happens when we finish it?
Yay! Let’s do the Bible next — I want to see the author interview. ;)
Unfortunatly the book was a little too rich for my blood, when it probably offers the same arguments that have been made before
I was impressed enough with Irreligion that I wanted to write a review of it, but dammit, I had to go earn a living. Sadness. I did make an animation to illustrate Conway’s Game of Life, and I found the historical reasons why the famous anecdote about Euler and Diderot is probably apocryphal.
Wow, sorry about the GERD – I suffer from that too ( recently was lucky enough to back off the heavy-duty acid blocker ). I hope to pick up Irreligion and join the discussion.
Thanks. I hope to eventually be able to control it with diet. I'm still figuring out what things I can't eat.
