- Irish poll: Rape victims partly to blame– I doubt that Ireland is alone in having such stats, unfortunately. Are there any similar polls for the US?
- Kiddie swearing post on Jezebel– In the vein of Elyse’s post on foul-mouthed babes.
- A squid’s beak is a marvel of biological engineering– A squid’s beak is like a knife being held with a hand made of jelly, you would think. Go read the post for a really interesting explanation of how it works.
- Leaping prairie chickens– Check out the vivid cheeks on these guys.
- Make it stop– Indexed addresses one of our favorite quackeries.
Have you seen the newer HeadOn TV ads? “I hate those commercials but I sure love the product!”
Less annoying, but somehow more insulting.
God I love Indexed. Also, does anyone have the Futurama movie Bender’s Big Score on DVD? If so, watch the bonus episode of Everybody Loves Hypnotoad for a funny parody.
You know, I didn’t even think about the whole “it’s hilarious when kids swear” angle of the subject… this commenter’s anecdote has me giggling over and over:
good stuff
sadly, I only have Bender’s Big Score on DVR… and I just missed Hypnotoad (my husband watches Futurama every morning while I read the news)
It’s on DVD? I know what to ask for on Fathers’ Day.
I knew it was in production, but I made the mistake of not keeping up with the progress and just happened across it playing on Comedy Central the other night. I set up my DVR to record it when it replays this weekend.
Ooh! I just checked Amazon. “The Beast With a Billion Backs” will be out in June. Sweeeeet.
